Jones Family

College. The fear of moving out of your parents house into the scary world of reality. Dishes, laundry, homework and cooking for one. In a strange uninviting city you find friends. Friends who you never lose. Crystal. Ashley. Aspen.

In 2004, my college adventure began as I met a group of friends through work. Our friendship has seen many laughs, camping trips, bonfires, hotdog scarfing and tipsy Wendover trips. It amazes me after all 6 years we as group still find the time to see each other at least once a year. I love it.

Crystal and her husband just added a new addition to their family. I was lucky enough to capture Riley's three month pictures. Crystal and Ash you have a handsome little guy and a beautiful family!

Mudding, Measuring and Frustration

Creative. Ambitious. Productive. Words which have made an impression on men and women in the past, present and future. Great leaders have taken these words to new heights and changed lives. Over the summer months I planned on expanding my creativeness and productivity. Judging from past events, I should have seen the procrastination coming.

Justin and I purchased two dressers last winter with hopes of refurbishing them. After the summer passes and only three warm weekends left, I finally decided to get our butts in gear. We hauled the dressers out and went to work.

Transforming a 1960's dresser set into a modern contemporary boudoir took some work. Justin and I ended up mudding 3 times, painted 5 coats, created new holes for the handles (always measure twice before drilling) and had a few minor fixes to the interior. I will be the first to admit I have a low frustration level and it was surely tested. Luckily Justin was there to help smooth things over.  Together we got through the frustration and gave birth to two awesome looking dressers. It was worth the work. I love you more more every day babe :)

Bear vs Bears

Once a year juniors and seniors at Bear River High School come together for a throw-down on the football field. no pads, cleats or helmets. No boys. Just flags and tough girls. The seniors scored some great touchdowns and beat the juniors. I have to say there were some great runners on both teams...I am guessing soccer players? LOL. Great job Sariah and Cam you both did so well and I had a blast watching you play! I can't wait to see you as seniors!! :)

Country Kids

Down on the farm. Beat up tractors. Stunning children. Nothing brings out the country feel more then old barns, hay and mud crawling up your shoes and legs. Barb wire poking legs and owl poop on your hands. Going through all the pokes and mud of this shoot it was SO worth every shot.

Jason, Madison and Carson rocked the camera this weekend. Not only were they stunning but each personality brought something special and unique to each picture. Thank you so much for all the laughs and hysterical faces :)

September Sunset

While cleaning my closet this weekend, I could see the sky turing pink outside my window. I decided to take me dogs out and the sky was just gorgeous! I had to run up the stairs and grab my camera. The pictures turned out beautiful!

The sunset below is one of the many reasons I love living where there are no lights after 9 pm and always smells like fresh cut alfalfa. A place where I can play my music as loud as I want without neighbor's complaining. A home where there are always fresh grown fruits and vegetables. Home...

Ethan's Story

Everyone has a story. Ethan's story is more then special. He was born deaf, blind and has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Ethan is not able to feed himself or support his own weight. He discovers the world through his hands and tongue. Yet he has the most enchanting smile, loves to play peek-a-boo and has a family who loves him.

When Ethan's sister, Vicki, asked me to photograph him as a gift to their mother I was thrilled. To be honest, Ethan's shoot became the most challenging one I have come across. Not able to make funny noises or faces to have him look my direction, I had to find unique ways to interact and pose Ethan. Although highly challenging, it came out to be the most rewarding shoot. I was able to see his silly personality enhance in the photographs and his love for life escape into my heart.

He and his family have gone through more then I could understand through his 7 years. Lisa you have a wonderful young boy and I was honored to capture this moment in time for you. I hope the pictures are everything you hoped for.
